ABSTRACT: Innovations in Digital Assessment Tools for Vocational Skills are transforming the way vocational competencies are evaluated. This study explored the effectiveness of digital assessment tools in vocational education. The objectives were: to identify current digital assessment tools used in vocational training, to assess the impact of these tools on evaluating vocational skills accurately, and to determine the challenges and benefits associated with their implementation. A survey design was utilized due to its efficiency in collecting comprehensive data from a large number of respondents, facilitating an in-depth analysis. A sample size of 300 vocational training instructors and students was selected using a purposive sampling technique to include those experienced with digital assessments. The case study was the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku. Findings indicated that digital assessment tools provided accurate, real-time evaluations, enhanced feedback mechanisms, and improved students' engagement and motivation. However, challenges such as technical issues and the need for training on tool usage were noted. It was recommended that vocational institutions should invest in robust digital assessment infrastructure, provide training for educators and students, and continually update assessment tools to keep pace with technological advancements.
